A Case of Kidney Stones

Case Overview

Patient, Female aged 38yrs complained of severe colicky pain in the left side of the back lumbar region. pain was colicky and had episodes of frequent and difficult urination. The patient had to struggle to pass the urine drop by drop which clearly showed there is an obstruction. I immediately advised to go for an emergency scan doubting for an obstructive Ureteric Stone.

Scan Report :

Left lower most Ureteric calclus of 8mm with obstructive uropathy.

Treatment Plan

  • The Acute Case History and the presentation of pain was elicited.
  • The Acute Treatment was planned to attend the severe acute colicky pain and to also releive the obstruction
  • The medicines were chosen and given in frequent intervals to bring the stone out.

Improvement Status

Once the medicines were followed frequently in water doses the patient started feeling better with the pain and the urinary frequency also reduced and the flow started to improve and in a couple of days the patients passed the stone.
